A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS
We recently roadtripped to Chicago to check out some live Serena Maneesh (more on that later) and were fortunate enough to end up kicking it with the band after their set. Among many other things we asked their guitar guru some bands he's been jammin' on as of late. One of the bands he mentioned was these guys, I guess he had a chance to check them out while in New York. Second story. Ben has been pushing this album "Synthstatic" by a band called Skywave on me for some time now. Turns out A Place To Bury Strangers is the reincartation of Skywave. Third Story. Ben jacks off to the image of Anton Newcombe in his mind ever since he watched DIG! a few short weeks ago. So while scouring the internet for nude photos of this dude, he runs across an interview with him. Turns out one of the bands Mr. Newcombe is into lately is...ta da...A Place To Bury Strangers. Enough with the stories already. If you like these tracks you can download a bunch more over at their website, they're down like that. You can go to their website by clicking HERE.

I'd like to take credit for pushing Skywave on Ben. There's another Skywave spin-off band out there called Ceremony. They're a little less heavy on the white noise with more of a Depeche Mode influence. I'd suggest picking up anything these guys put out. They blow all their money from sales on equipment so they never have enough to reprint anything.

Plus the dude from Skywave/APTBS makes his own pedals - Death By Audio.

P.S. Dig the site.
